Why We Built This Site
Warrant questions in Charleston County split across courts and law-enforcement offices. The Sheriff’s Warrants Unit can confirm process it has received; the issuing judge or clerk controls the court order. A county magistrate, Charleston Municipal Court, or another city court may keep a separate bench-warrant file. South Carolina has no public statewide name-search portal, and SLED CATCH excludes wanted-person information. A search at one desk can therefore leave a real gap. This reference organizes the local search links, office contacts, public-record request routes, and limits documented by official sources. It is designed to help a person checking their own status or assisting a relative find the right office.
What You Will Find Here
- Sheriff search: how to use the warrant lookup, which asks for a last name and allows a first name
- Current status: how the outstanding warrant page explains list limits and confirmation contacts
- Missed appearances: which court may hold a bench warrant and what to ask after a missed date
- Arrest process: how arrest warrants differ from summonses and city court process
- City and traffic matters: local steps for traffic warrants, municipal courts, payment, and court dates
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference, not a court, Sheriff’s Office, or state service. Staff here cannot take official action on a record. In particular, we cannot:
- Check a government warrant system or confirm a live status
- Change a court order, recall process, or accept bond or fine payment
- Schedule an appearance, surrender, or court hearing
- Advise how a warrant, charge, or bond applies to an individual case
- Promise every contact detail or procedure remains current
Current status comes from the issuing court or the agency holding the process. Use the listed contacts to reach that office, then rely on its answer and any written court order.
Search Partners
Sponsored search boxes may send a visitor to an outside provider. That provider sets its own terms, prices, and data practices. A referral fee may support site costs when a visitor chooses a paid service. Such results are not an official Charleston County warrant confirmation, and the provider’s privacy notice should be read before submitting information.
